Model drift is a weekly event

Assistants change what they cite without telling anyone. We watched one category lose a third of its answer share in eleven days.

Answer shareResearch

Retrieval indexes refresh, models get replaced, and a source that anchored an answer for months drops out of it. From the brand's side there is no notification, no ranking drop, no traffic signal — the recommendation simply stops happening.

Get told the day a model stops citing you, not the quarter after.

In one category we tracked, a single retailer guide carried nine of the top prompts. When it was rewritten, the brand named in those answers changed within a fortnight and its answer share fell 11.4 points. Nothing on its own site had changed.

Monitoring beats auditing

A one-off audit tells you where you stand today. Weekly measurement tells you what moved and what moved it, which is the only version of this that leads to action.
